Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen is a classic must read for those who love literature. The book cover is gorgeous and goes well with the story.
Elinor Dashwood and her sister Marianne are total opposites. Elinor is prudent and Marianne is outright passionate often letting emotions get in the way of her decision making. Elinor makes her decisions using her mind without feelings, while Marianne decides with her heart. The reader gets to see that Elinor and Marianne must realize that strictly using your heart or mind will not always work in life, especially when it comes to love.
If you think you will feel overwhelmed by Austen's works, no need to worry because this edition is the Insight edition, where the editorial staff offers its readers insights of the novel. You get historical details, cultural comparisons, trivia, and other notes in the side margins of the book.
I would definitely read more books by Jane Austen and if I can find copies with notes as well. That would be fantastic. 4 out of 5 stars.
I received this book via Bethany House.
